During his shift, Veasey assisted the Renfro manufacturing team with a range of tasks that gave him a new perspective on how a 77 year old family-owned business continues to thrive and remain innovative within the food industry.

Fort Worth, Texas – On Tuesday, April 24, 2017, Congressman Veasey awarded Heavenly Najar, a freshman at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy, with this year's top prize in the 33rd Congressional District 2017 Congressional Art Competition. Heavenly's piece, Bisabuela, was chosen as the overall winner for her use of rich color and mixed medium style that combined traditional painting techniques with a non-conventional wood canvas.
