WASHINGTON - In the wake of deadly gun violence in Fort Worth, Rep. Veasey introduced a resolution condemning the two horrific mass shootings in Fort Worth's Como and Polytechnic Heights neighborhoods and acknowledging the human toll of gun violence in communities nationwide. The resolution aims to spur action on the passage of common sense gun safety legislation that will help prevent gun violence and keep our communities safe.

The Gun Violence Prevention Task Force was established after the tragedy at Sandy Hook and has grown to a membership of more than 165 Members of Congress.

WASHINGTON – Last week, Rep. Marc Veasey voted for bipartisan legislation that takes historic steps to combat gun violence and protect Texas communities. The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act will help save lives by keeping weapons out of dangerous hands, strengthening mental health services and bolstering school safety. The first major gun violence prevention legislation passed by Congress in nearly three decades, and has now been signed into law by President Biden.

On Wednesday, Veasey voted for the Protecting Our Kids Act which includes common-sense gun safety measures that will crack down on illegal gun trafficking, prevent teenagers from obtaining firearms, restrict access to untraceable "ghost guns", and more.
