"Aretha's songs were the soundtrack to a higher power. Chain of Fools; RESPECT; Say A Little Prayer – her lyrics were a powerful croon that transported a generation. Her train picked up 'sinners and saints.' Her stardom on and off the stage is an ode to her personified perfection. She made every stage her hallelujah; and carried us into her state of grace. She cared deeply for her community of Detroit, her family, and of course, the music that kept our souls alight. Forever and ever, you'll stay in our hearts."
