WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Veasey released the following statement in response to Governor Abbott’s decision to call a special session on redistricting on the order of Trump:
Washington, D.C. — Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, slammed the passage of the so-called “Big Ugly Bill” by Republicans. Included in the bill were nearly $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, tax breaks for the wealthy, and reductions to other vital programs that Americans rely on and pay for. Kennedy Jr. over his proposed FY 2025-2026 budget—which includes devastating cuts to lifesaving staff, hospitals, grants, and programs aimed at combating the opioid crisis.
Washington, D.C. – Following the House vote on the GOP-led reconciliation bill, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) released the following statement:
"This nearly $5 billion contract for Lockheed Martin is yet another powerful example of how our district continues to lead in strengthening our national defense while supporting good-paying jobs right here in the district” said Congressman Veasey (TX-33). “I’ve been proud to champion programs like this one right here in the Texas 33rd, and I’ll continue standup for the livelihoods of our skilled workforce who continue to produce some of the best American made products in the world.
