Rep. Veasey’s Statement on Military Parade Postponement

August 20, 2018

"I believe the work of our military, and the sacrifices their families make on behalf of our country, deserve our continued support. That is why in February, I introduced a bill that would prohibit the expenditure of millions of taxpayer dollars on President Trump's frivolous exercise. A better use of those resources, would be for this Administration to work with Congress to provide additional support for our military families, ease the transition to civilian life, and assist in operations at the Department of Veteran Affairs," said Congressman Veasey.

"With the postponement of the military parade, I hope this Administration will re-evaluate its desire for this parade, and instead take this opportunity to work with Congress to increase military readiness for our troops and provide better services for our veterans."
