Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, June 23, 2016, Rep. Marc Veasey and Members of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus will hold a press conference to demand immediate Congressional action on voting rights legislation. On the heels of the three-year anniversary of the Shelby v. Holder Supreme Court decision that dismantled key provisions of the Voting Rights Act, the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus is answering the call to protect and restore the right to vote for every U.S. citizen.

The nationwide conversation condemning a pair of hardworking graduating seniors is a direct result of the anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, anti-LGBTQ and anti-Latino policy agenda set by Republicans.
Washington D.C. – Today, Congressman Veasey introduced H.R. 5444, The14th Amendment Protection Act, that would prohibit discrimination against U.S. citizen children with undocumented parents and bar local, state and federal governments from denying them access to documents and resources they’re eligible for, regardless of their parent’s immigration status.
Fort Worth, Texas – On Monday, June 6, 2016, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, will lead a FREE Voting Rights Forum with Congresswoman Terri Sewell, AL-7, Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham, NM-1, and expert panelists, to discuss the current state of voting rights, learn about efforts to protect the right to vote, and discuss the importance of civic engagement in our communities.
