Media Advisory: Congressman Veasey Clocks in at McDonald’s
Rep. Veasey will work breakfast and lunch shifts at McDonald’s for his July ‘Marc Means Business’ workday
Dallas, TX – On Friday, July 22, 2016, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, will work the breakfast and lunch shifts at a local Dallas McDonald’s restaurant. As part of his ‘Marc Means Business’ work day, Veasey will greet customers, serve as a crew leader motivating employees, distribute prepared meals to drive-thru customers and learn more about the daily responsibilities of fast food workers and managers.
“The Marc Means Business series allows me to gain a firsthand look at the jobs that my constituents do every day, including those that work in the fast food industry,” Congressman Veasey said. “Working at one of McDonald’s black-owned franchises will provide me a closer look at the operator-owner business model and an opportunity to learn more about the challenges both employees and managers face as they run a busy restaurant.”
Since March 2014, Veasey has worked at a different job in his district each month learning about the diverse range of businesses in the 33rd Congressional District of Texas. The Marc Means Business constituent outreach series connects Veasey with residents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their work and daily lives.
