Washington, D.C.Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, was named by Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi to serve on the conference committee for the FY18 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a bill that authorizes funding for the Department of Defense for the next fiscal year. The conference committee is made up of Republicans and Democrats selected by their parties to negotiate any differences between the House and Senate versions and develop final language for NDAA FY18.

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Marc Veasey, a co-chair of the House Democratic Caucus Access to Jobs Task Force, asked business and labor leaders noted for their excellence in work-based learning programs to share their best practices on ways Congress can improve access to jobs.

This information will help the Access to Jobs Task Force better develop policies that will allow American workers to gain the skills they need to grow in the work force. This includes inquiries about apprenticeship programs, and workers' credentials.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In honor of National Grandparents Day, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, reintroduced H.R. 3796, the Grandparents Tax Credit Act, which provides a $500 refundable tax credit to help cover additional expenses for grandparent caregivers. This legislation aims to lessen the out-of-pocket costs that grandparents take on when they step up to help raise their grandchildren when their parents cannot.
