WASHINGTON, DC – Today, May Day, as thousands of protestors across the country march and organize for immigrant rights, Rep. Judy Chu, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Representatives Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) led a bicameral effort in Congress pushing the Department of Homeland Security to be more transparent with its detention processes.

Though attendance was lower than organizers had hoped, thousands of people marched across downtown Dallas to City Hall on Sunday, April 9 demanding immigration reform.
At Dallas City Hall, speakers represented the broad spectrum of organizers.
Speaking as a member of the LGBT community, the Rev. Neil Cazares-Thomas of Cathedral of Hope called himself an immigrant and an American and said the Bible teaches us to welcome the stranger.
With the heat of the day beating down on downtown Dallas, a mass of people dressed in red, white and blue packed Pearl Street in front of Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
They held up American flags and signs that read "Rise Up" and chanted in Spanish, "Sì se puede."
About 3,200 people marched Sunday, according to a tweet from the Dallas Police Department, from the cathedral to Dallas City Hall in the Mega March……
