Washington, D.C. — Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, member of the House Armed Services Committee released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R.2810, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018:

"I am honored to serve on the House Armed Services Committee to ensure that Congress can provide proper resources to keep our country safe from escalating global threats. I believe that H.R. 2810, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018, accomplishes many of these goals.

The teams begin practice with a few freshman lawmakers on their rosters and some players lost in the shuffle of the 2016 election.

Democrats will be seeking redemption after losing to the Republicans last year, 8-7, in a heart-stopping finish, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
