In celebration of financial literacy week, Rep. Marc Veasey teamed up with Citibank for Teach Children to Save Day at Schulze Elementary School in Irving.

The Citibank program aims to instill basic financial understanding and responsibilities in children.

Citi's Division Director for Texas Eleanor Millwood joined Rep. Veasey in teaching a lesson for seven 2nd grade classes about the basics of saving.

President Barack Obama and three living former U.S. Presidents -- George W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter -- are visiting the LBJ Presidential Library in Austin to discuss such issues as same-sex marriage, immigration policy, race, women, and education and to honor President Johnson's tremendous leadership in winning passage of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965.

“Today, as the House of Representatives considers H.R. 4414, the Expatriate Health Coverage Clarification Act of 2014, I want to express my deep concern, as it would establish dangerous precedent under the Affordable Care Act.

Marc Veasey, TX-33, said that more needs to be done to close the wage gap that still exists between women and men – including passage of the critical Paycheck Fairness Act. National Equal Pay Day symbolizes the point at which, more than three months into the year, women's wages finally catch up to what men were paid in the previous year.
