WASHINGTON, D.C. – Earlier today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) spoke on a conference call with the community organizations designated to assist residents of the DFW region with the new Federal Insurance Marketplace in the state of Texas. Just a month into the Marketplace enrollment, the call provided an indication of how 265,000 uninsured residents in Texas' 33rd congressional district have been educated and assisted with the healthcare marketplace.

Washington, DC – U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey, TX-33, will join Rep. Tony Cárdenas who has gathered more than a dozen fellow freshmen representatives Wednesday morning for a press availability, discussing the importance of passing Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) will present Poly U.S. history teacher and "A Teach for America" corps member, Graham Sharpe, with the 2013 Humanities Texas Award for Outstanding Early-Career. Dallas, TX – Rep. Marc Veasey, TX-33, visited the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) on Monday, November 4 to tour the facility and to discuss hunger and the potential impacts of food assistance programs due to recent food-aid funding cuts.

Earlier this month, SNAP, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, was cut by 5 percent after the 2009 Recovery Act's temporary increase in benefits expired leaving participants with just $1.40 to spend per meal. According to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, 3.5 million Texas residents receive SNAP benefits.
