WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) sent a letter to President Trump and the Small Business Administration asking for help to inject liquidity that provides much-needed relief into small businesses in the service industries that rely on travel and tourism. A key reason for the disproportionate impact upon these small businesses relates to a business model that is aided by advanced payments by customers for a service or experience not yet delivered.

WASHINGTON, DC – In the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, Congressmen Marc Veasey (TX-33) and Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) wrote a letter urging the Food and Drug Administration to ensure availability of existing drugs that have shown promise to combat the spread of the Coronavirus. Specifically, the letter requests information regarding the obstacles to procurement for chloroquine phosphate and hydroxychloroquine—compounds that are both potential broad-spectrum antiviral drugs that researchers say could prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), Lizzie Fletcher (D-TX), and Pete Olson (R-TX), led the entire Texas House Congressional Delegation to protect Medicaid funds for Texas hospitals by sending a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) highlighting several concerns over a proposed rule aimed at altering Medicaid financing, that would detrimentally impact Texas.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution (H.Res 826) led by Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) that expresses disapproval of the Trump Administration's illegal Medicaid block grant plan, a plan inviting states to cap and slash the Medicaid program. This harmful plan would essentially allow states to receive a waiver to block grant their Medicaid programs for certain low-income Medicaid recipients, and have the impact of weakening the entire program and pushing Medicaid recipients off their much-needed, life-saving health care coverage.
