Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, a member of the House Armed Services Committee's Tactical Air and Land Subcommittee, introduced H.R. 4980, the Preventing the Allocation of Resources for Absurd Defense Expenditures (PARADE) Act, a bill that would prevent allocating taxpayer dollars on any type of grand military parade requested by the President or the Department of Defense.

Fort Worth, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A retired Fort Worth school teacher is delighted about her chance to attend President Trump's first State of the Union address Tuesday.
WFAA-TV reports former Dunbar Middle School teacher Charmion Johnson-Polk was invited by Fort Worth Congressman and former student Marc Veasey. Johnson-Polk told the station.
"I never dreamed I would be getting up in the gallery to see or to hear a president speak."
Even before you walk in her front door, Charmion Johnson-Polk has a lesson plan.
Her yard has signs like "you can't scare me, I teach" and "to teach is to touch a life forever"…
She will attend the first State of The Union for President Donald Trump as a guest of Fort Worth Congressman Marc Veasey, D-Fort Worth.
