WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey joined his colleagues to pass the CASH Act–legislation that would increase economic impact payments to hard-hit Americans to $2,000. Today's vote comes the heels of last week's news that President Trump changed his mind on helping Americans and decided to support Democrats' longstanding call for increasing direct payments to help communities across the country.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Late last night, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) voted to pass a bipartisan COVID relief package. The relief package was included with bipartisan Appropriations bills which will fund the government through September 30, 2021. The package provides funding for vaccine distribution, more aid to small businesses, assistance for airline industry workers, expands unemployment benefits and includes critical provisions from Veasey-led legislation that will bolster affordable access to broadband.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) introduced the "Storing CO2 and Lowering Emissions" or "SCALE" Act along with Congressman David McKinley (WV-01), Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17), and Congressman Pete Stauber (MN-08). The bill will support the buildout of the infrastructure necessary to transport CO2 from where it is captured to where it can be utilized in manufacturing or safely and securely sequestered underground.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation that would rename a U.S. Post Office on East Rosedale Street in Fort Worth after Dionne Phillips Bagsby. The bipartisan legislation was introduced by Fort Worth Reps. Veasey (TX-33) and Granger (TX-12) earlier this year to commemorate Dionne Phillips Bagsby—a trailblazer in Tarrant County who paved the way for the inclusion for women and minority leadership in government in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Last night, Congressman Veasey (TX-33) joined his colleagues to pass a bipartisan, bicameral agreement on a National Defense Authorization Act that honors our values, strengthens our security and advances America's leadership in the world. The legislation authorizes $732 billion in discretionary spending for our national defense for FY 2021 and passed the House by a bipartisan vote of 335 to 78.

WASHINGTON, D.C. —Today, U.S. Representatives Marc Veasey (TX-33) and David B. McKinley, P.E., (W.Va.-1) introduced the Accelerating Carbon Capture and Extending Secure Storage through 45Q (ACCESS 45Q) Act. This bipartisan legislation extends the date for projects to begin construction to claim the 45Q tax credit for carbon oxide sequestration by ten years. It also provides a direct pay elective for the full value of the tax credit, which makes it more useful for project developers.
