WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey spoke on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in opposition to H.R. 807, the “Full Faith and Credit Act.” Under this Republican-led “Pay China First” proposal, bondholders from China and other foreign nations would be paid first, putting payments to Americans at risk. Congressman Veasey delivered the following remarks:

WASHINGTON, D.C – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey voted against H.R. 1406, the Working Families Flexibility Act. This misnamed Republican-led bill would effectively end the 40 hour work week and take away workers’ right to overtime pay by permitting employers the ability to substitute overtime pay with comp time. This bill would more accurately be called the “More Work, Less Pay Act” and represents another Republican attack on pay and benefits for middle class families when the House should be considering legislation that will create jobs and strengthen the economy.

One of the amendments would ensure that the 11 million undocumented immigrants are not given a pathway to citizenship. DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TX – Today, Thursday, April 25, Congressman Marc Veasey announced the formation of a judicial screening committee to highlight possible nominees to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. With Judge Terry R. Means assuming a senior status role, the federal court will have a vacancy in the upcoming months.

The judicial screening committee will be led by Terri Moore, who will serve as committee chair, and will include a diverse group of individuals from across the Metroplex:
