Fort Worth, Texas – On Tuesday, April 24, 2017, Congressman Veasey awarded Heavenly Najar, a freshman at Grand Prairie Fine Arts Academy, with this year's top prize in the 33rd Congressional District 2017 Congressional Art Competition. Heavenly's piece, Bisabuela, was chosen as the overall winner for her use of rich color and mixed medium style that combined traditional painting techniques with a non-conventional wood canvas. |
