WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Congressman Cedric L. Richmond (D-LA-02), and the Co-Chairs of the CBC Task Force on Foreign Affairs and National Security, Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX-33) and Congresswoman Karen Bass (D-CA-37) issued the following joint statement in response to the recent attacks in Niger.
Washington, D.C. — Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, member of the House Armed Services Committee released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 2810, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018:
“I am honored to serve on the House Armed Services Committee to ensure that Congress can provide proper resources to keep our country safe from escalating global threats. I believe that H.R. 2810, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018, accomplishes many of these goals.
Washington, D.C. - This week, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, member of the House Armed Services Committee, introduced legislation to study deported veterans and to establish an Office of Naturalization within the Department of Defense to ensure that legal permanent residents who enlist and serve in the U.S. armed forces are explicitly guided through the citizenship process before their honorable discharge.

“Every year, the House Armed Service Committee (HASC) is responsible for shaping the priorities of our armed forces and provides guidance on resources and policy to support our service members and their families for the coming year.
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey reintroduced H.R. 2777, the Veteran Home Loan Choices Act, to ensure our nation’s veterans are provided all the loan options available to them. The legislation will ensure that veterans can make a well informed decision when selecting a home loan for their families.
