Congressman Veasey Releases Statement on Funding the Government

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey has released the following statement following news that Elon Musk and President Elect Trump have urged Republicans shut down the government: 

"Democrats have, in good faith, worked across the aisle to ensure that tens of thousands of workers get paid, while providing real support for farmers and veterans this holiday season and beyond," said Congressman Marc Veasey. "Yet, without considering the far-reaching consequences this would have on the lives of everyday Americans, Elon Musk and President-Elect Trump have disrespected the needs of the average worker by urging Republicans to reject the agreed-upon bill. Musk, an unelected and out of touch oligarch, has shown time and again that he is a threat to both the democratic process and the well-being of Americans across the country."
