WASHINGTON, D.C. - On the heels of the fatal police shooting of Texas native Atatiana Jefferson, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) introduced two pieces of legislation that will hold law enforcement accountable and boost transparency in the investigations of law enforcement.
Congressman Marc Veasey released the following statement after a Fort Worth police officer was charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Atatiana Jefferson:
“No amount of justice will bring Atatiana back. Her death is a wrongful and untimely loss, and I mourn with her family and friends during this horrible time.
Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) released the following statement on the deadly mass shooting at the Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas:
“I am devastated by the mass shooting in my home state of Texas that has left at least 20 people dead and injured 26 more. My heart goes out to the victims and their families that were impacted by this senseless act of violence. I am grateful for the heroic first responders that risked their lives to ensure the safety of all of those that were impacted by this tragedy.
