Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) was reappointed today to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he will continue serving on the Subcommittee on Energy, and take on new roles on the Health, and Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittees. These new appointments reflect Congressman Veasey’s growing influence among House members as an effective legislator and expert in healthcare, energy, and manufacturing policy. They also offer an opportunity to shape key legislation benefiting the people of Texas' 33rd District and the nation.

The Health Subcommittee oversees critical healthcare and public health legislation, including consumer protection issues. In addition to his reappointment to the full Energy and Commerce Committee and his work on the Energy Subcommittee, Congressman Veasey’s new roles on both the Health, and Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittees will allow him to play a central role in crafting legislation to address the nation’s most pressing challenges.

Following the announcement, Congressman Veasey issued the following statement:

“I am honored to be reappointed to the Energy and Commerce Committee, and I’m particularly excited about my new appointments to the Health, and Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade Subcommittees,” said Congressman Veasey. “These roles give me the chance to expand my efforts in advocating for affordable, high-quality healthcare and to push for policies that strengthen American manufacturing, promote fair trade, and substantially increase our competitiveness in critical areas. As we address challenges across these sectors, I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to ensure that every American has access to the resources they need to thrive.”

Congressman Veasey’s appointments come at a pivotal moment as he also serves as Vice Chair of the New Democrat Coalition. In these roles, he is positioned to advance innovative policies that will have a lasting impact on his constituents and the nation.
