Washington, D.C.-As the House of Representatives considers final passage of the Keystone XL Pipeline, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, offered an amendment to ensure that the manufactured goods utilized to build the Keystone XL pipeline are made in America.
The language mirrors Senator Al Franken's amendment that would ensure "none of the iron, steel, or manufactured goods used in the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline and facilities approved by this section may be produced outside of the United States."
WASHINGTON — Black lawmakers from Texans met this afternoon with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, calling it a productive session.

Jan. 16--House Speaker Joe Straus sent a shout out to soon-to-be-former Texas Gov. Rick Perry last week.
On the first day of the session, he thanked several Texans for their leadership of the state, particularly noting that Texans owe "a great deal of gratitude" to Perry for his three decades of service.
"And if there are any coyotes wandering around Iowa or New Hampshire, I would suggest you stay out of his way and find a good place to hide," he said.
