Washington, D.C. – In light of the recent police-involved shootings around the United States, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, introduced a series of bills aimed at protecting innocent police officers and the public. The Police Protection Act of 2016 and the Preservation of Public Evidence Act of 2016 will increase transparency and accountability in order to improve the relationship with the community it serves.

Washington, D.C. — On September 28, 2016, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, introduced H.R. 6215, the Medicaid Gap Relief Act, to automatically exempt families under the federal poverty level from paying a tax penalty for failure to have qualifying health coverage. As of 2016, 19 states have blocked Medicaid expansion that would benefit millions of low-income families in their quest to undermine the President’s signature achievement.

Washington, D.C. – Just weeks away from one of the most important general elections of our time, Congressman Marc Veasey introduced two pieces of legislation, a resolution Expressing the Support for the Passage of the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2015 and the All Ballots Count Act of 2016, to preserve the right to vote and to dismantle barriers that prevent some Americans from participating in our nation’s democracy.

Congressman Veasey’s Partnerships for the Future Act would direct the Department of Labor to create a competitive grant pilot program to provide additional tools for educating and training our workforce to thrive in the 21^st century workforce.
