Beginning Monday, December 3, the downtown Fort Worth Social Security office, located at 819 Taylor Street, will temporarily provide limited services until further notice due to renovations. The agency plans to resume full Social Security service options next summer. In the meantime, the following services will be provided by a smaller staff in the current facility: Social Security cards, benefit verification letters, and replacement Medicare cards. All other employees of the office will work in surrounding offices until the renovations are completed.

Mass shootings have become a reccuring nightmare in America. In Thousands Oaks, Sgt. Ron Helus and a veteran's sergeant in the Ventura County Sheriff's office both ran into the bar to help when they heard gunshots. They are were incredibly brave and fearless- they put their lives on the line- and their lives were taken trying to help others. All twelve victims and their families lives are changed, and I grieve with them. We must and will do more to combat the uncontrolled epidemic of gun violence in our country.
Fort Worth, Texas – On Thursday, November 8, 2018, Congressman Marc Veasey will honor four veterans with the Congressional Veteran Commendation at his annual Veterans Town Hall at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth.
The nominations-based program designed to recognize the wartime sacrifices and peacetime community involvement of veterans of the 33rd Congressional District of Texas. Recipients of the award include: Abdel Casiano, Christopher Ray, David Whitley, and Jherarrd Crockett.

Washington, D.C. – On Friday, September 28, Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation declaring a state of disaster in parts of Tarrant County. Due to the severe weather and flooding that began on September 21, 2018, there has been widespread and severe property damage in parts of Texas Congressional District 33, which Congressman Veasey represents, including the cities of Forest Hill and Everman. FEMA and the Small Business Administration (SBA) will be out in the coming week to access preliminary damages.
