Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement regarding H.R. 5021, a bill that reauthorizes the Highway and Transit Trust Fund through May 31, 2015:

"I am proud that the House has put partisanship aside to consider stop-gap transportation funding that will prevent our Highway and Transit Trust Fund from running out of important funds next month and extend federal highway and public transportation programs through May of next year.

Washington, D.C.- Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, announced a $8.7 million U.S. Department of Transportation grant awarded to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) for the final installment of funds toward the completion of the Green Light Rail Line System. The largest electric light rail opening the country has seen in 20 years, the $1.8 billion Green Line stretches as far southeast as Dallas' Pleasant Grove neighborhood and northwest all the way to Carrollton.

Washington, D.C. – Today Rep. Veasey announced that the Texas Transportation Commission will award funding from the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program (AIP) a grant of $1.9 million to Fort Worth-Meacham Airport for terminal building and pavement improvements.
