Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas— On Tuesday, August 19, 2014 U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey will spend a few hours at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport where he will get a taste of how an airline operates on the ground by working as an American Airlines baggage handler as part of his monthly Marc Means Business initiative.

Since March 2014, Veasey has spent a day each month working at a different job in his district. He has delivered UPS packages, served barbecue, and mixed concrete for Dallas highways. The Marc Means Business series connects Veasey with constituents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their industry and daily lives.

"American Airlines and DFW Airport are vital economic engines for our community," said Veasey. "From welcoming passengers to safely loading precious cargo, airport and airline employees play a crucial role in commercial activities, airline operations and the running of airports. As we celebrate National Aviation Week, I hope that my experience working as an American Airlines baggage handler will not only give me valuable insight on jobs in the airline industry but also increase awareness, knowledge and appreciation of aviation."
