U.S. Rep. Veasey Clocks-In at Downtown Dallas Freeway Construction Yard
Works as Concrete Batch Plant Laborer with Pegasus Link Constructors on TxDOT Horseshoe Project
Dallas, Texas— On July 21, U.S. Representative Marc Veasey will work as Concrete Batch Plant Laborerat the Pegasus Construction Yard (PLC) in Dallas as part of his Marc Means Business initiative. The series connects Rep. Veasey with constituents at their place of employment to better understand the challenges they face in their industry and daily lives.
Veasey will roll up his sleeves to work alongside contractors on the Dallas Horseshoe, a roadway construction project by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to improve traffic flow through the heart of downtown Dallas.
The work day comes just a week after the U.S. House of Representative approved transportation funding to prevent the federal Highway and Transit Trust from running out of funds to extend federal highway and public transportation programs. This stop-gap measure temporarily delays the loss of 700,000 jobs on as many as 112,000 highway construction projects and 5,600 transit projects through May of next year.
"Infrastructure projects like the Dallas Horseshoe Project help our families, fuel our economy, and better position America for the future. I look forward to working alongside the TxDoT and Pegasus team in building a thriving 21st century transportation system that supports a vibrant 21st century economy," said Rep. Veasey.
