WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congressman Tony Cárdenas (CA-29), Congressman David Schweikert (AZ-1), Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) and Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) introduced the bipartisan Crisis Care Access and Response Expansion for Behavioral Health Act or the CARE for Behavioral Health Act of 2024. As we continue the vital work of addressing our nation’s mental health needs, this bill is a crucial next step for improving the delivery of behavioral health services.

Washington, DC - Earlier today, U.S. Representatives Marc Veasey (TX-33-D) and Gus Bilirakis (FL-12-R) introduced the Early Detection of Vision Impairments in Children (EDVI) Act. The EDVI Act will establish grants for states and communities to improve children’s vision and eye health through screenings, early interventions, and coordinated systems of care.

Today, Congressman Marc Veasey announced that Pranav Raju will accompany him as his guest to the 2024 State of the Union address. 16-year-old Pranav of Irving has lived with type 1 diabetes since a young age and has used his diagnosis to bring awareness to the condition and advocate for access to affordable insulin for Americans of all ages.

WASHINGTON - This week, Representatives Marc Veasey (TX-33) and Jake Ellzey (TX-06) introduced the Creating Opportunity for Athletic Coaches to Help Educate Students (COACHES) Act to extend the educator Expense Tax Deduction to K-12 athletic coaches and administrators. This bipartisan bill will amend the tax code to allow K-12 coaches to be classified as "eligible educators" in order to be eligible for tax deductions for out-of-pocket expenses relating to instructional expenses.
