WASHINGTON - This week, Representatives Marc Veasey (TX-33) and Jake Ellzey (TX-06) introduced the Creating Opportunity for Athletic Coaches to Help Educate Students (COACHES) Act to extend the educator Expense Tax Deduction to K-12 athletic coaches and administrators. This bipartisan bill will amend the tax code to allow K-12 coaches to be classified as "eligible educators" in order to be eligible for tax deductions for out-of-pocket expenses relating to instructional expenses.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressmen Marc Veasey (TX-33) and Kevin Hern (OK-01) of the House Committee on Small Business introduced bipartisan legislation that will mitigate the effects of sudden growth, protecting small businesses from being prematurely forced out of the small business category. Moreover, this legislation would grant small businesses additional time to transition before competing in the open market.

WFAA-TV reports former Dunbar Middle School teacher Charmion Johnson-Polk was invited by Fort Worth Congressman and former student Marc Veasey. Johnson-Polk told the station.

"I never dreamed I would be getting up in the gallery to see or to hear a president speak."
