WASHINGTON, D.C.U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey, along with key members of the Texas State House of Representatives and the Tarrant County Commissioners Court, sent a letter to Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke requesting the U.S. Department of Justice investigate Tarrant County Judge Tim O'Hare's actions to undermine minority voters in Tarrant County and led to the resignation of County Elections Administrator Heider Garcia.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33), co-founder of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus, joined his colleagues to introduce the Protecting Election Administration from Interference Act of 2023. This bill would strengthen our democracy by establishing greater safeguards against potential election subversion efforts. It would ensure elections and vote counting are performed fairly, transparently, and without partisan influence.

Crafted in response to extremist attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election – including the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol – the Presidential Election Reform Act will implement several common-sense measures to safeguard Texans' votes against any future attempt to interfere with the certification of election results.
