Washington, D.C.—Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement after the recent outbreak of violence in Jerusalem:
Oil companies including Chevron Corp., Encana Corp., and Continental Resources Inc.have for more than a year been urging Congress to lift the ban. They argue that allowing oil exports would eliminate market distortions, create jobs and stimulate more U.S.
Washington, D.C. – Unable to change his vote on H.R. 1735, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (NDAA), Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, submitted a statement to be inserted in the Congressional Record stating that while he voted "no," he intended to vote "yes" on the NDAA conference report.
"While no bill is perfect, and there are some provisions that I disagree with, my vote was intended to be in support of the Conference Report to the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 (NDAA).
The presentation was part of a ceremony held Tuesday at Lockheed Martin, celebrating the first rollout of F-35s being delivered to Norway. Norwegian dignitaries, Lockheed Martin employees and government officials, including U.S. Reps. Kay Granger and Marc Veasey, were in attendance. Other guests walked upon a red carpet as they entered the building.
Washington, D.C.—Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, issued the following statement on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the agreement negotiated between Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, plus Germany (P5+1):
Texas Democrats joining in support of the deal included U.S. Reps. Al Green and Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston, Joaquin Castro of San Antonio, Henry Cuellar of Laredo, Lloyd Doggett of Austin, Rubén Hinojosa of Edinburg, Eddie Bernice Johnson of Dallas, Beto O'Rourke of El Paso, and Marc Veasey of Fort Worth.
The delegation will then travel to Ukraine to meet with leaders in Kiev to discuss political and economic reforms. In addition to DeLauro and Pelosi, the group includes: Reps. Anna Eshoo of California, Chellie Pingree of Maine, Cedric Richmond of Louisiana, David Cicilline of Rhode Island and Marc Veasey of Texas.
The travelers on this whirlwind six-day junket are Rosa DeLauro (Conn.), Anna Eshoo (Calif.), Chellie Pingree (Maine), Cedric Richmond (La.), David Cicilline (R.I.) and Marc Veasey (Tex.).
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will travel to Italy and Ukraine starting Thursday on a congressional delegation intended to underscore the U.S. commitment to security in that region.
Democratic Reps. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut, Anna Eshoo of California, Chellie Pingree of Maine, Cedric Richmond of Louisiana, David Cicilline of Rhode Island and Marc Veasey of Texas will accompany Pelosi. Republican Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin was scheduled to join the trip but was forced to cancel because of family matters.
