Dallas, TX – On Thursday, November 10, 2016, Congressman Veasey will award three local veterans for their service during World War I and the Vietnam War.

Congressman Veasey will present Mr. George Padilla with four different medals that he earned during his service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Padilla served in Korea from 1967 – 1970 during the Vietnam War where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Marksman Badge & Rifle Bar, and the Korea Defense Service Medal.

Fort Worth, Texas – On Thursday, November 10, Congressman Marc Veasey will honor three local veterans with the Congressional Veteran Commendation at his annual Veterans Town Hall from 5-7 PM at American Legion Post 838 in Fort Worth. Recipients of the award include: Mr. Miguel Angel Buendia, Mr. Steven Nickolas Gonzalez, and Mr. Jason Simmons.

Dallas, Texas— As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we honor our service members, like Mr. Marcos Torres, who selflessly took the oath to defend our nation. Surrounded by friends and family, Congressman Veasey presented Mr. Marcos Torres with the Purple Heart and additional medals he earned during his service in the United States Army from 1948-1951, and during the Korean War.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, introduced H.R. 5304, the Health Expansion Loss Prevention (HELP) Veterans Act to extend the six months of healthcare and dental coverage provided to our service members released from active duty under the Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP) to one full year of coverage.
