In March 2021, I joined my colleagues to pass the American Rescue Plan, which has now been signed into law by President Biden. This landmark, life-saving legislation provides urgently needed resources to defeat the virus, put vaccines in people's arms, money into families' pockets, children safely back into classrooms and people back to work in Texas and across the United States.

Below are some highlights of this historic legislation that can help you and your family:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution (H.Res 826) led by Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) that expresses disapproval of the Trump Administration's illegal Medicaid block grant plan, a plan inviting states to cap and slash the Medicaid program. This harmful plan would essentially allow states to receive a waiver to block grant their Medicaid programs for certain low-income Medicaid recipients, and have the impact of weakening the entire program and pushing Medicaid recipients off their much-needed, life-saving health care coverage.

WASHINGTON – Congressmen Marc Veasey (TX-33), Max Rose (NY-11) and Joe Morelle (NY-25), introduced legislation this week that would use savings from Medicare prescription drug negotiations to lower Medicare Part D costs for low-income seniors.

H.R. 4620, the More Help for Seniors Act of 2019, would raise the income limits for eligibility under the Medicare Part D low-income subsidy program, which would help low-income seniors and individuals with disabilities afford needed medications by lowering copays and premiums for Medicare Part D.
