Washington, D.C. – As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday we must remember the many Americans who live with limited access to affordable and nutritious food. That is why Congressman Marc Veasey introduced H.R. 6343, the Farmers Markets for Food Deserts Act,to ensure that families living in food deserts have reliable access to fresh and nutritious foods year-round.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, is devoted to ensuring that all Americans have the tools they need to lead healthier lives. That is why for the fourth year in a row, Rep. Veasey introduced H. Res 719 designating the month of May as “Health and Fitness Month,” to inspire increased physical fitness in communities nationwide and to help children and families adapt healthy choices into their everyday routines.

Washington, D.C. – Members of the Texas Democratic Congressional Delegation released the following statements after the Supreme Court heard oral arguments for Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt, a critical case that challenges Texas’ House Bill 2, a restrictive anti-abortion law passed in 2013,and represents the most comprehensive challenge to the Supreme Court’s historic ruling in Roe v. Wade in nearly a decade:

Rep. Marc Veasey (D-Texas) already has his congressional football dream team picked out.
"Oh man, Cedric Richmond of course. I would definitely want him on the team. That would be my first round draft pick," said Veasey of the Democratic Louisiana lawmaker.
"Seth Moulton [D-Mass.] is a pretty athletic guy is my understanding. Eric Swalwell [D-Calif.] is also really athletic," he added.
Veasey and other lawmakers joined a host of gridiron stars at an educational clinic hosted by the NFL and USA Football on Wednesday evening to promote safety in tackle football.
