Three members of Congress met with TCC students on South Campus Feb. 5 to focus on student concerns.
By opening the floor to questions and comments, U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey, whose district includes South Campus, along with Rep. Eric Swalwell of California and Rep. Ruben Gallego of Arizona addressed student debt, Veterans Affairs and immigration reform.
Dallas / Fort Worth, TX – On Friday, February 5, Congressman Veasey hosted Congressmen Eric Swalwell and Ruben Gallego for a day-long listening tour meeting with students and entrepreneurs of all ages to learn about the challenges DFW millennials face in their everyday lives. The Congressmen first met with over 100 Metroplex students, administrators, and professors during a morning town hall at Tarrant County College’s South Campus.

Congressman recognizes Townview Business students for creating innovative app
Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, recently honored 10 talented Townview School of Business and Management students during the annual Congressional App Challenge reception at El Centro Community College.
Dallas, TX – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, honored nine talented Townview School of Business and Management students during the annual Congressional App Challenge reception at El Centro Community College in Dallas, TX. Raymond Hernandez, Cesar Escobedo and Lisette Benavides composed the winning “Dark Matter” team that created the innovative app, “Accountability Tracker”. The app was developed to help other students establish and track personal and professional goals. The winning app will be displayed in a U.S. Capitol exhibit for a year.
