Congressman Veasey Statement on President-Elect F-35 Criticism

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey released the following statement after President-Elect Donald Trump took to Twitter to criticize the production of the Lockheed F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, a critical job creator in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex:

“The F-35 is the only stealth fighter jet in production and keeps us competitive with countries around the globe. As Russia and China advance their stealth aircraft, we must ensure we can defend and protect our homeland. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am open to the discussion of cost-saving proposals to the program if it does not compromise capabilities, the safety of our service members, or jobs in North Texas.”
