WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) is dedicated to making healthy living attainable for all Americans, empowering them to increase their physical activity and to improve their nutrition to lead robust lives. For the third year in a row, Congressman Veasey introduced a resolution to designate the month of May as "Health and Fitness Month."
What: U.S. Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, will be hosting a Congressional Health and Fitness Expo to bring attention to healthy lifestyle options other members can share with their districts. The expo will include exhibits that allow visitors to learn great nutrition habits, study exercises that everyone can partake in, and find tips on living a healthy lifestyle. This event is free and in support of Health & Fitness Month.

WASHINGTON — Christer Hiort needs a new liver — the only known cure for a disease that has slowly damaged his bile ducts. He's been on the waiting list for seven months.
Under the current transplant system, the Frisco resident would probably wait about another three years, his doctor says, and get an organ from a fellow Texan.
But a new plan for allocating donated livers could send organs from Texas as far as Florida and prolong the wait for Hiort and other Texans.
