It's that very reason Congress is tapping the creativity of the next generation to create an app for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, invites local high school students in the Metroplex to participate in the first annual congressional science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) academic competition, the House Student App Challenge. This competition is a nationwide event that showcases all participating congressional districts high school student's ingenuity in creating a software application, or "app," for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.

Yesterday, House Democrats joined by Americans from communities nationwide heard President Obama lay out his vision to help create jobs, strengthen the middle class, and grow our economy. Members’ invited guests that have been impacted by a wide array of issues that are expected to be addressed in the State of the Union, including health care.
DALLAS-FORT WORTH – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33), along with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), will host in the 33rd Congressional District Job Fair on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.at the Tarrant County Resource Connection Conference Center, located at 2300 Circle Drive in Fort Worth. The job fair is free and open to the public.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) will present Poly U.S. history teacher and "A Teach for America" corps member, Graham Sharpe, with the 2013 Humanities Texas Award for Outstanding Early-Career. Out of hundreds of nominations from across the Lone Star state, Mr. Sharpe was one of three teachers selected for the prestigious honor.

IRVING, TX– Irving Public Library is one of 77 national recipients to receive funding from the NEA “Big Read” initiative.
Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) announced the awarding of a $16,000 grant to the Irving Public Library through the Big Read initiative. The Big Read, by the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA), is an initiative designed to boost reading programs across the nation.
