Rep. Veasey is committed to empowering all Americans to adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity and good nutrition. During the month of May, Congressman Veasey hosted and participated in health and fitness events to support the resolution and living a healthy lifestyle.
Washington, D.C—Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, announced that the 33rd Congressional District is now accepting submissions for the 2015 Congressional Art Competition. Since the creation of the competition in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.
The winner, in addition to having their artwork displayed in the Capitol, will also be provided with two roundtrip tickets to attend the ribbon cutting ceremonies of the art exhibit in Washington, D.C.

High school students are invited to learn about scholarship opportunities, internships and apprenticeships in the Metroplex, military academy appointments, job interview strategies and scholarship opportunities. A job and internship fair will take place in the afternoon.

"I applaud the President for ensuring that our children are provided an opportunity to achieve the American dream through higher education. It is clear that a training gap exists in our country and the only way to alleviate this is to provide equal access to higher education for all Americans and to create collaborations between businesses and educational institutions.
Professor Randall Lewis has been integrating service-learning projects into his classes for two years with the goal of helping students learn more about civic duty.
Due to the success the students have had with their projects every year, Mayor Price came Tuesday night to congratulate students for their hard work.
For the service-learning projects, students choose an organization to work with and fully manage a project over the course of the semester.
