Washington, D.C.-As the House of Representatives considers final passage of the Keystone XL Pipeline, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, offered an amendment to ensure that the manufactured goods utilized to build the Keystone XL pipeline are made in America.
The language mirrors Senator Al Franken's amendment that would ensure "none of the iron, steel, or manufactured goods used in the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline and facilities approved by this section may be produced outside of the United States."
WASHINGTON — Black lawmakers from Texans met this afternoon with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, calling it a productive session.
"The president wants to make sure he has a good dialogue with the Congressional Black Caucus for the remaining two years of his presidency," Rep. Marc Veasey, D-Fort Worth, said after the 90-minute meeting. "We got to talk about some things that we agree with and disagree with."
