Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday, November 14, 2017, House Republicans on the Rules Committee rejected an amendment offered by Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, to add provisions to the House Republican tax bill that would support the working class. Rep. Veasey’s amendment would have strengthened families, assisted immigrants who want to become patriotic Americans, and incentivized greater access to fresh, healthy food.

Res. 501, a resolution designating the month of September as “National Voting Rights Month.” The resolution not only encourages all Americans to exercise their Constitutional right to vote but also encourages our nation’s public schools and universities to develop an academic curriculum on the importance of voting.
