Fort Worth/Dallas, Texas – As the nation awaits the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit on the expansion of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parental (DAPA), Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33 and special guest, Congressman Luis Gutierrez, IL-4, will host two informational forums on Saturday, July 18, in the DFW Metroplex.
In a letter dated June 23, a group of 35 Congressional Democrats wrote to Department of Homeland of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson urging him to change current detention policies for LGBT people. Included on the correspondence were the signatures of U.S. Reps.
His fellow House Democrat and former state House colleague, U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey concurred, stating, "Though the fight for full LGBT equality in this country is far from over, today we celebrate that we are one giant step closer. Because love is love."

"I applaud the Supreme Court on their historic ruling today on same-sex marriage. The law of the land agrees with what the majority of Americans already know—when it comes to marriage, all that matters is love, not your sexual orientation. The Court has spoken and state laws banning same sex couples from marrying are now unconstitutional.
