That is why Congressman Marc Veasey introduced H.R. 6343, the Farmers Markets for Food Deserts Act,to ensure that families living in food deserts have reliable access to fresh and nutritious foods year-round.
Washington, D.C. –Today, Congressman Marc Veasey introduced H.R. 6329, The Promise of Citizenship Act, that will make naturalized U.S. citizenship more affordable for green card holders. This legislationwill reduce the out of pocket costs of successfully applying for U.S. citizenship by providing a $500 refundable tax credit for newly naturalized citizens.

Washington, D.C. — On September 28, 2016, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, introduced H.R. 6215, the Medicaid Gap Relief Act, to automatically exempt families under the federal poverty level from paying a tax penalty for failure to have qualifying health coverage. As of 2016, 19 states have blocked Medicaid expansion that would benefit millions of low-income families in their quest to undermine the President’s signature achievement.
