Protect ACA/ Reproductive Rights
Washington D.C.—Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement in regard to his concern for H.R. 4414, the Expatriate Health Coverage Clarification Act of 2014, legislation that would impact health coverage plan protections for millions of workers under the Affordable Care Act:
“Today, as the House of Representatives considers H.R. 4414, the Expatriate Health Coverage Clarification Act of 2014, I want to express my deep concern, as it would establish dangerous precedent under the Affordable Care Act.

“Four years after the Affordable Care Act was passed into law, House Republicans continue their quest to undermine and repeal a law that has already provided millions of Americans access to healthcare coverage for the first time.
WASHINGTON - More than 6 million people have enrolled in the federal and state health exchanges, President Obama announced Thursday.
This means the administration has met its latest goal, as projected by the Congressional Budget Office, to ensure the insurance system is sustainable.
Obama made the announcement on a conference call with health care navigators and volunteers while he was traveling in Italy. He thanked them for their help.
U.S. Secretary for Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius returned to North Texas Thursday to again urge residents to sign up for Obamacare before the March 31 deadline.
FORT WORTH — At a time when nearly one-quarter of all Texans lack health insurance, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius came to town Thursday to encourage residents to sign up before the March 31 deadline.
"Everything is bigger in Texas," she said during a news conference at Tarrant County College South Campus. "Unfortunately, the number of uninsured is bigger in Texas.
"Twenty-three percent of Texans have no health insurance at all."
DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TX – As a final push to get uninsured Texans enrolled into the Affordable Care Act (ACA) before the March 31st deadline, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) will tour the Dallas-Fort Worth region’s ACA enrollment events on Saturday, March 22.
