WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Marc Veasey (D-TX), founder of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus, and current co-chair, introduced a bicameral resolution with Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) to designate September as "National Voting Rights Month". The resolution will encourage voter registration in the month of September and push Congress to restore the Voting Rights Act of 1965 to preserve the right to vote amid Republican-led voter suppression attempts.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) and the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) have formally endorsed the Vanessa Guillén Military Justice Improvement and Increasing Prevention Act which would reform the military justice system by moving the decision to prosecute serious crimes in the military from the chain of command.
