Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) Joins Colleagues to Introduce Legislation to Break Down Barriers to the Ballot Box

WASHINGTON –On Friday, Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33), Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Voting Rights Caucus joined his House Democratic colleagues to introduce the Expanding the Voluntary Opportunities for Translations in Elections Act (Expanding the VOTE Act). This legislation supports jurisdictions in their efforts to help everyone vote, no matter their English-language proficiency.

"As people in every corner of the country prepare to vote in this year's elections, it's critical that we do everything possible to ensure everyone, regardless of their English language proficiency, can equitably participate in our democracy," said Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33). "That is why I am proud to join my colleagues in introducing the Expanding the VOTE Act, which will add additional commonsense steps to help state and local governments to reach more people and best serve their residents."

That is why Congress must make voting materials accessible for every constituent.
