Congressman Marc Veasey Statement on Uvalde, Texas School Shooting

FORT WORTH - Congressman Marc Veasey (TX-33) released the following statement after yesterday's mass school shooting in Uvalde, Texas:

"As a father of a child in school, I am absolutely heartbroken by the updated news that yesterday's mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, robbed at least nineteen innocent children and two teachers of their lives. These kids and their families were robbed of their lives, by a sociopath and domestic terrorist, on the eve of their summer break.

"This cannot continue to be the norm in our country. Our children, teachers, and communities deserve better. We must come together to stop dangerous people from ever obtaining a weapon."
