Dallas-Fort Worth, TX – January 8, 2025 – Representative Veasey urges caution as winter storm warning takes effect in DFW area. Please see below for details and updates from the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for most of North Texas, in effect from 6 AM Thursday, January 9, through noon Friday, January 10. A wintry mix is expected to begin Thursday, transitioning to snow by Thursday evening.
Snowfall Forecast:
- 2-4 inches expected in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
- 3-6 inches in northern and northeastern parts of the Metroplex
Residents are advised to delay travel plans as roads may become slick and travel will be difficult or impossible in some areas. Snow and ice are anticipated to impact roads and visibility, especially overnight and into Friday morning.
Conditions should improve by Friday afternoon, but motorists are urged to exercise caution during the morning commute. Stay updated on the latest weather information at weather.gov/fwd.
