Veasey Statement on Supreme Court Review of Immigration Executive Actions
Dallas / Fort Worth, TX - Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement after the Supreme Court announced its decision to review President Obama’s immigration executive actions to extend Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and implement Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA) programs:
“Today’s Supreme Court decision to review President Obama’s immigration executive actions offers a glimmer of hope to over 170,000 Texas immigrants who are eligible for the expanded DACA / DAPA programs in Dallas and Tarrant County. I remain confident that the court will affirm the President’s legal authority to provide temporary deportation relief to millions of immigrants who are ready to come out of the shadows. Now it’s time to build on this momentum and I urge House Republicans to join House Democrats to provide a permanent solution to our country’s broken immigration system.”
