Veasey Announces $150 Million Dollar Grant to Fund the TEX Rail Project

Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas — Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, released the following statement after the Federal Transit Administration announced a $150 million dollar grant for the construction of the TEX Rail project, a 27-mile commuter rail project that will connect downtown Fort Worth to DFW Airport:
“Since the inception of the TEX Rail project, I have remained committed to ensuring infrastructure investment that will ease traffic congestion on our highways and spur long-term economic development in the DFW Metroplex. Today’s announcement ensures a more reliable and affordable transportation option for North Texas residents with increased access to good paying jobs and additional education opportunities. I applaud the Fort Worth Transit Authority whose vision of creating one of the nation’s most innovative railways will soon become a reality.”
